[Operating environment]

 Personal computer : IBM PC/AT compatible personal computer having Intel(R)
                     Pentium(R)II or Celeron(R) 300MHz or higher CPU
                     (including compatible CPU), and preinstalled
                     Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Home Edition/Professional
                     Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Me
                     Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 98 Second Edition
 Graphics display  : High Color(16bit) or more
 Desktop size      : 800x600 or more
 RAM               : 32MB or more (64MB or more recommended)
                     (For Windows XP, 128MB or more)
 Hard disk         : 20MB or more disk space
 Interface         : USB port
 Others            : CD-ROM Drive


[Procedure for deleting DV STUDIO Ver3.1E from the computer] (Uninstall)

<Windows XP>

 1. Open [Add or Remove Programs] from [start]-[Control Panel].  

 2. Select [DV Studio3] in the displayed list, and click on [Change/Remove].
   -[Confirm File Deletion] dialog box appears, and by clicking on [OK], the 
     uninstallation begins.
  
 3. When the uninstallation is completed, click on [Finish].
   -With this, the uninstallation of DV STUDIO Ver3.1E is completed. 

<Windows 98SE/Me>

 1. Open [Add/Remove Programs] from [Start]-[Settings]-[Control Panel].  

 2. Select [DV Studio3] in the displayed list, and click on [Add/Remove].
   -[Confirm File Deletion] dialog box appears, and by clicking on [OK], the 
     uninstallation begins.
  
 3. When the uninstallation is completed, click on [Finish].
   -With this, the uninstallation of DV STUDIO Ver3.1E is completed. 


[About the Operation Manual]

 -To view the manual(Manual.pdf), Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) Reader 5.0 or higher is
  needed. Those who do not have Acrobat Reader, please install the Acrobat
  Reader 5.0 included in the [Acrobat Reader] folder in the CD-ROM of this
  product.

 -The Manual cannot be viewed properly with Acrobat Reader versions earlier 
  than 5.0. In such circumstances also, please install Acrobat Reader 5.0 by 
  the above said procedure.

 -The Manual can be viewed by selecting [Help]-[Operation Manual] in the menu
  bar in this product, or by clicking on the [?] mark.


[Declaration]

  In the description below, video equipment having a digital still picture
  terminal that can be connected to a PC using this kit is referred to as
  "DV movie camera".


[Additional information on DV STUDIO Ver3.1E]

 1. If this software is started under the condition when other software/  
    softwares is/are already running, normal connection  or communication 
    between the personal computer and the DV movie camera may not be possible.
    In such circumstances, please close all other software (or softwares), and 
    then restart this software. 

 2. If the resident softwares are running, the connection between the personal
    computer and DV movie camera may get severed, or the image acquisition or
    communication during image search may get obstructed.
    In such circumstances, please close all the resident software (or softwares),
    and then restart this software. 

 3. Sometimes, the connection between the personal computer and DV movie camera
    may not be satisfactory, or the connection may get severed during use. In
    such circumstances, restore the power to DV movie camera, remove the
    interface cable from the DV movie camera and reconnect, restart DV STUDIO.

 4. Search of acquired images near the beginning or end of the tape (about 30 
    seconds) may fail. The search may also fail if the images recorded on the
    tape are discontinuous. In such circumstances, please search manually.

 5. If simple images (.dcf files) acquired by auto acquire a renamed, search or
    decoded view will not be possible. Please do not rename. 

 6. Image files acquired in Fast Preview Mode may get deleted when they are 
    renamed or when exiting this software.  If there are required images, 
    choose the desired thumbnail image, click on the decode button and re-
    acquire in Full Acquire Mode (.dvf file). 

 7. If the DV control file (DvInfo.dvp file), which contains the information
    for managing the files acquired with DV STUDIO Ver3.1E, is either deleted
    or moved, proper search or decode view will not be possible. 
    Please do not delete or move the DvInfo.dvp file.

 8. The thumbnail of large image files having 2,000,000 or more image pixels 
    may not be properly displayed.

 9. During Autoacquiring in Tape Recording Mode, if the tape or memory card is
    already loaded in the DV movie camera, the power of DV movie camera may be
    automatically turn off after about 5 minutes due to power or tape
    conservation, and there is the possibility of termination of autoacquiring.
    To avoid this, prior to starting autoacquiring in Tape Recording Mode,
    please remove the tape or memory card from the DV movie camera.

10. Regarding the Date created (Date shot) of the image in the Properties of the
    DVF file, the Date/time at the time of shooting with the DV movie camera are
    displayed. If the built-in clock was not configured at the time of shooting
    with the DV movie camera, the Date/time when the file was created is
    displayed.  

11. When performing Index Print, depending on the personal computer used, icons 
    other than the file of the image may not be printed. 

12. Do not connect or disconnect the USB plug to/from the personal computer or
    DV movie camera quickly.

13. When Beep Sound function has been selected, and a button is pressed, 
    Windows alarm sound may ring. However, this is not an error.

14. If Auto Acquire of Photoshot is done in Tape Playback Mode, acquiring may
    occur with jumping or the same image may be acquired repeatedly.  Under
    these circumstances, please either start over the Auto Acquire or search
    manually to acquire.

15. Depending on the use environment, Thumbnail may not display properly when 
    viewing a folder in which over hundred image files have been saved, or 
    creating a Slide Show using a folder in which over hundred images files 
    have been saved.

16. When viewing Slide Show, depending on the image size, the image may be 
    displayed longer than set time.  

17. When Windows XP is used, two or more users cannot activate the software at
    the same time.

 1. All rights on This Software and Operation Manual belong to Matsushita
    Electric Ind. Co., Ltd. (hereafter, called "This Company". 

 2. Unauthorized copying of this software and the Manual either in part or full
    is strictly prohibited.  

 3. This software and the Manual can be used only according to the terms 
    mentioned in "Software Use License" displayed at the time of installation
    of this product.

 4. The contents of the Operation Manual may be changed without notice.  

 5. This software and Manual have been prepared with utmost prudence.  However, 
    in case of doubts or if any errors or omissions are found, please inform.
